That women are different from men, is not something new. In my diagnosis and treatments, I take these differences into account. Headaches in women often come from very different sources than in men. And what about your menstrual cycle and the life phase you're in? I have a lot of experience and knowledge of hormonal women's complaints; menopausal symptoms, menstrual complaints, pain and discomfort, insomnia, feeling unwell, restlessness, migraines, digestive complaints, pregnancy-related issues and hormonal fluctuations. I also help women with acupuncture treatments for fertility problems and processes.

In addition to women's complaints, I also treat acute and chronic pain according to Dr. Tan's Balance Method.

Eastern medicine has been ingrained in me from an early age. In the 1970’s, the first English translations of meridian theory and acupuncture were already present in my home. My 14 year old daughter suffered from severe migraine attacks, often missing one to two days of school as a result. She was taking a lot of heavy medication, but the headaches persisted. So, I found help from an acupuncturist. After just one acupuncture treatment, improvement was noticeable. I had just begun my studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and soon I was able to treat her myself. She has now been symptom-free for 15 years.

I completed my training in Classical Chinese Acupuncture at the Qing-bai Academy for Chinese Medicine. Internships at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, USA, and various internships in and outside the Netherlands taught me everything I needed and more. Continuous further education in the fields of women's complaints and pain management keeps me up to date.
