After working in pharmaceutical research for many years, I decided to put an end to that and follow my passion for the enchanting world of Chinese medicine. I pursued my undergraduate degree in acupuncture at TCMA (Traditional Chinese Medicine Academy).
My interest in Chinese Medicine was sparked during my pregnancies. During the period around pregnancy, it is natural to use as few chemical substances as possible.
During my teenage years, I suffered from intense headaches, often weekly, along with a painful, stiff neck and shoulder. From this experience, I developed a deep desire to overcome my headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and to find a way to enjoy my life again, free from pain. Consequently, my studies clearly led me towards healthcare, with the aim of relieving not only my own pain but also that of others.
After graduating Cum Laude in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Acupuncture from Shenzhou University in Amsterdam (2010), I specialized in Dr. Tan's Balance Method Acupuncture.
For many years, I worked as a physiotherapist, and since 1991, I have been wholeheartedly an acupuncturist. In the last 10 years, I have specialized in Japanese Acupuncture styles, such as Toyohari Meridian Therapy.
