Fibromyalgie & Rheuma

Fibromyalgia, also referred to as soft tissue rheumatism, is a rheumatic condition. Unfortunately, fibromyalgia is often acknowledged only after lengthy and intensive doctor visits. The diagnosis can only be made by a rheumatologist. This condition is characterized by pain in the 'musculoskeletal system', which is usually chronic in nature. The pain is located in muscles, joint attachments, tendons throughout the body, among other areas.

Many patients describe the pain as a type of muscle pain you typically feel when you have a severe flu. However, patients with fibromyalgia experience this almost daily. The pain primarily occurs in the neck, shoulders, hands, pelvis, legs, feet, and back. Unfortunately, pain is not the only problem.

Commonly reported additional complaints include:

  • Poor sleep, possibly due to pain
  • Fatigue
  • Intestinal complaints
  • Hormonal disturbances
  • Depression
  • Headache and/or dizziness

TCM/Acupuncture can generally treat fibromyalgia effectively. There is often a so-called Spleen pathology or a Bi syndrome (Chinese for 'rheumatic disease').

  • Muscle pain
  • Headaches
  • Joint pains
  • Allergic reactions
  • Stiffness
